Paul Loiacono is an Executive Vice President and serves as Managing Director of the Financial Platforms group at Catalyst Group (CG). Paul is responsible for managing the implementation of multiple real estate finance businesses in Saudi Arabia as well as fulfilling the mandate of expanding CG’s Financial Platforms group across multiple OIC markets. Paul is a career banker and finance executive with over 17 years of experience holding a variety of senior and executive level positions covering sales, operations, and executive management.
In Saudi Arabia, Paul’s key responsibilities at CG include leading the development and launch of a SAR 1 billion national real estate financing company and establishing a new project finance company to support mid-size housing developers. Beyond Saudi Arabia, Paul is leading CG’s collaboration with Bank Nizwa in Oman, and developing strategies for market interventions in multiple markets across the Middle East North Africa, Asia and beyond.
Previously, Paul served as Head of Originations for Latin America within the RMBS Group of Deutsche Bank where his responsibilities included product development, business development, channel development, and general management of a division focused on select luxury markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. In 2009, Deutsche Bank appointed Paul to lead an effort to form Deutsche Gulf Finance (DGF), a joint venture between Deutsche Bank and Fahad A. Al-Rajhi. Paul's expertise in business formation, mortgage and banking led to successful transaction close and the establishment of DGF in Saudi Arabia.
After serving Senior Roles for Deutsche Bank in New York, Paul was installed as Chief Operating Officer of DGF shortly upon transaction close to continue his work of setting-up and launching the new company. Paul was responsible for executing upon the strategy and launching the business which required expert domain knowledge in project planning, product development, business documentation, Islamic finance, and technology.
Paul’s experience also includes several start-up entrepreneurial ventures. Most notably, he was the President and Co-Founder of Montgomery Mortgage Capital Corporation ("MMC"). During his time at MMC, Paul expanded the company’s lending platform across twenty states with over 250 employees and grew originations to USD 1 billion per year.
Paul received his MBA from William Paterson University where he also obtained baccalaureate degrees in Economics and Finance.
